Name Change for the Sun Life MFS International Value Segregated Fund

Plan sponsors may wish to consider whether this investment news has any implications for the investment options available within their plans. Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada purchases units of the fund listed below. They are established as a segregated fund under the Insurance Companies Act (Canada).

You and your members don’t have to take any action as a result of this name change.

On August 1, 2026, Sun Life will update the fund name of the Sun Life MFS International Value Segregated Fund to Sun Life MFS International Intrinsic Equity Segregated Fund (the “Fund”.) We are making this change to match the recent name change made by MFS to the underlying fund. MFS  changed the name of the underlying fund from MFS International Intrinsic Value to MFS International Intrinsic Equity, due to recent regulatory requirements in the U.S. that dictate closer alignment between a fund’s name and its investment policies.

The Fund follows a distinctive approach to investing that challenges style categorizations and measurement criteria. MFS determined that changing the name of the fund is preferable to modifying the investment approach of the strategy to comply with the new regulatory requirements.

There are no changes to the Fund’s investment objectives, strategies, teams, or processes.
