CAPSA G3 Update – Statement Modules

Following the updates to Guideline No. 3 for Capital Accumulation Plans (CAPs) by the Canadian Association of Pension Supervisory Authorities (CAPSA), we’ve reviewed our statements and are making the following enhancement to help support you in remaining compliant with the guidelines.

Plan member statements are built with the ability to include many optional modules. This flexibility means Sun Life can turn on modules for plan member statements to display new information.

Previously, numerous modules were optional. We’ll add these two newly required modules to all plans’ annual statements in December 2025: 

  1. The Allocation of contributions to the chosen investment option and
  2. Plan member’s personal rate of return.

As a reminder, section 5.1 of CAPSA Guideline No. 3 outlines what needs to be included in plan member statements as of January 1, 2026.
