Expanding access to mental health support – introducing Online Counselling, by Dialogue!
We believe everyone deserves access to quality mental health care – no matter where they are in their mental health journey. We’re excited to introduce Online Counselling, by Dialogue – coming soon for individuals aged 14+*.
About Online Counselling, by Dialogue
Online Counselling will be available through the my Sun Life mobile app (and later this year, mysunlife.ca). It provides confidential, easy access to Dialogue’s licensed professionals who can help plan members better understand how to cope with stress, anxiety, life transitions, relationships and other challenges.
This solution helps expand access to mental health support for plan members. The sessions are competitively priced for plan members – they pay for their sessions directly and receive electronic receipts that may be submitted for reimbursement under their applicable Extended Health Care coverage. If not covered by their plan, plan members are responsible for the cost of their sessions.
Important note: Online Counselling is only available to Clients without Stress Management and Well-Being in their plan.
Key features of Online Counselling include:
- Access to mental health practitioners: plan members receive care from registered psychotherapists and social workers through Dialogue’s clinical network.
- Timely access to care: plan members can book appointments within days.
- Practitioner matching: plan members can find a practitioner aligned with their needs, including areas of support, cultural background, gender and language.
- Convenient virtual sessions: plan members can attend appointments securely by video or phone.
Accessing Online Counselling
Our aim is to provide personalized, confidential support that's easy to access whenever plan members need it. For plans that provide other Sun Life Virtual Solutions, by Dialogue services (such as Virtual Care and EAP services), Online Counselling is seamlessly integrated.
No action is required from you. Plan members will be able to access Online Counselling through the Health tab on the my Sun Life mobile app home screen. First-time users will need to register for the my Sun Life mobile app, and either link to their existing Dialogue account, or create a new account (if they haven’t already). Returning users can access the service through their existing account.
